Tokyo Joe racing cross?

Well it still is freezing in d-town. Went out and did an 30 min effort with bartman @ folsom today. After getting dizzy I went up to sports club and did another 30 min on the richard timmons course. It was rough trying to keep it upright on the snow covered downhills. At least it was good practice for providence if it snows again. Ran into danielson he was out putting in some base miles. I hit up the spirit trail and got the fresh tracks in the snow. Hit up RGP's for lunch and have basically done nothing since. Talked to Friedman today and he seems to be in good spirits considering all he is going through. He said he was able to ride for 30 min the other day so it seems as if he is on the long road to recovery. Freedman was definitely one of the most talented guys on the road team. He got 3rd in the TT at uspro and 8th at philly this year 1st american. I'm sure he will come back stronger than ever. You can read more about what exactly happen @ http://fixedgearfever.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=511 .

tokyo joe was seen racing cross in his homeland of japan.

Snow?

Well the snow hit d-town on tuesday. The roads where still frozen when i ventured up to school this morning. Lucky by the time class was over 8th st. was wet so i didn't hit the deck on the ride home. Went out for an easy hour hit up the park and a couple of trials around town. Snyder went on the group ride this morning at 9 frank the tank showed his face. Mapel only goes out in the worst conditions and always goes on the hard rides. Did some work on the bikes tonight and booked a ticket over to euro land for the x-mas cross camp. My return part of the trip has me flying into jfk and then transferring by bus to newark. That should be fun with two bikes and a 50 pound bag on top of a carry on and backpack. All I really care about is the trip over coming back i can deal with whatever.

On another note last week i got this thing notarized and the guys name was Troy Wills. Crazy.

Edmund and Snyder Score Victories

First off Edmund won his 1st cross race i think of his allusive career. Shriver Cross 6 went to the old man. You just mite be seeing him do this at cross nationals in the 50+ masters race friday morning. Check shriver cross for a complete race report and more photos.

Todd and I watched the race then headed into the gulch for some mtbing I was on the cross bike and somehow didn't flat that is always my main goal when riding the cross bike on mtb trials. Todd was on the mtb bike and ended up flatting. Last night Meg had the overends and the danielson along with myself and Timmons over for amazing mexican lasagna. Todd also gave us all a course on the HD TV he is some sort of an expert on the topic. Meg also made some peanut butter brownies.

This morning it was off to the flc campus for a effort on the course from yesterday. My chain was a little to new for the cassett on my practice wheels and I couldn't seem to hold a gear so on the 1st lap I tried to do some quick bike maintance which didn't seem to help so I was racing around only being able to put down power in my 12. Todd rode away from everyone Ned went down and hurt his hand and jumped back in with Chainsaw and myself. About 15 min to go ned and I dropped Chainsaw who I think will put up a good fight in the B race at natz. After the race Todd and I went for a half valley and then I worked on some homework and went for a run.

Snyder won his race today after breaking his chain in sterling yesterday. He said today was an awesome course with quite a bit of single track. Congrats to Snyder.

"I want to thank the Franks" (Kuhl 05 Thanksgiving)

Been a while since I updated. Sunday after the race I headed up with LG to hang out with her for a couple days. On monday we went and checkout Vancouver it was a cool city. It reminds me a little of San Francisco. It has a park right on the water just like SF and it also is built on a hill. Tuesday I ventured out in Bellingham for an hour effort along the lake. I had my hands full just trying not to get blown off my bike. LG and I went and checked out her campus in the afternoon of course by then it was raining so did really get to see all that much. Wednesday checked out Seattle, which is also a cool city. The Northwest cities are super clean and it doesn't smell like the east coast cities. Thursday morning had to get up around 6 to make my 8 o'clock flight. Not really much of a morning person. On my 1st flight there had to be at least 15 babies some how I was able to sleep. (miracle). Arrived @ DRO airport around 4 Richard Timmons picked me up and we where off the D.R. Frank thanksgiving party. Frank and Janet double the turnout of last year with at least 30 people showing up. Next year I think they are going for 100 with a ad in the newspaper. It was a fun night filled with the annual horseshoe battle. It is always a entertaining watching a bunch of cyclists play horseshoes. The main goal is just trying to reach the pit. Dinner was amazing thanks to everyone at the party for pitching in to make it another great thanksgiving. Woke up this morning feeling last night a little bit. Built up another cross bike with a double. Went out for yet another session behind the scooter. Thanks to Shriver for braving the cold and taking me out. Todd left Shriver a jacket and pair of gloves but Shriver passed on the offer and was paying for it for the next hour. Tomorrow is another Shriver Cross up at the school I will be taking it in on the sidelines for a Sunday effort. Hopefully we can put on another practice race on sunday. I wonder if Snyder will get a UCI point this weekend in Sterling.. Good Luck dude.

Seat 11C

In flight to the last two rounds of the USGP in Seattle and Portland. It should be a rough weekend it has been raining in the northwest for the last month. At least it won’t be another dirt crit. Haven’t really been up to much beside from training since my last entry. Last night I hit up ninnies for a burrito and ran into Chad and Brandon. Ended up spending the next hour just kicking it at the buck. We even ran into birdman downtown with his new lady. Richard Timmons moved his SUV into the garage for the next week when Snyder is gone. Snyder hung down a plastic container for Timmons so he doesn’t hit the Audi. Snyder wrote “STOP YOU CRAZY LEPRECHAUN” on it. Today I woke up and did a half valley. I was planning on getting a ride to the airport with Mcduff considering yesterday he said he was flying out at 1. But when I called him this morning he was on the way to the airport b/c he discovered he had an 11:30 flight. Lucky I called Kuhl and he was able to take me. We stopped by RGP on the way out of town. It was Jens b-day today so she was crazier then normal. I plan on finding colt this weekend to try to get a Free Jason Sager T-Shirt.

SNOW

Alot has went on since my last entry. The race went well we had a good amount of people in the beer tent which always makes it easier to go hard. I gave a brief race report on the team blog. Saturday night we all went out and hit up steamworks and the lost dog. Sunday was richard timmons presents cyclo cross at the sports club. I was on the sidelines with mcduff cheering everyone on. It was a fun race to watch T. Brown, Adigga, and the real one kept it interesting beating eachother up for money. Chainsaw even took home some money for a entertaining bunny hop attempt over the barriers. Adigga was graceful in his bunny hopping the barriers making it look easy.

Today on my way to class it began to snow. I was not to happy considering I had to do an hour hard today. After class i went to the park and started an effort. Todd was just finishing up so the loop was worked in well. Half an hour into the effort I broke my der. hanger and sent my der into my wheel. Not a good day for the equipment. Now I'm on my way up to class and will go out again after class and try to get in another half an hour.

Squawker Cross

I went motor pacing on tuesday. Guptill was killing me on the zuma. Hit up serious texas taco night with chops schmity and tricia. That place gets me everytime i think they put crack in sauce. Snyder and I redesigned the cross course for the weekend. The soccer team has a play-off game on saturday which resulted in plan b for the upcoming race. I hope the race goes well, all it really takes is alot of drunk people watching to put on a good cross race. Today Shriver and I went and did a lap of course and it seems to flow well. There is one technical dismount right by the beer tent, which should result in some carnage. Tomorrow is another day behind the zuma. Only week and half until thanksgiving break.

USGP #3 and #4

Shriver and I

1st lap sand pit

The weekend in boulder went okay. Saturday I don't think i was opened up. I'm trying something new this cross season which didn't help for Saturday. Sunday I had a good ride ending up 14th. I laid it down twice around the same turn during sundays race. On the second lap I was in 5th with Johnson trying to get across to the lead group and went down and slid off course. On the last lap I was sprinting for 11th but ended up last out of my group. I was riding around alot yesterday with my bff (best friends forever) Horner that is what mcduff meg and adigga have been calling us. Adigga and I hit up wolf creek for some sledding on the drive home. Here are two pics from the weekend.

Round 2

I finally got to hit up the bmx trails today. There was a good size crew hitting them up tonight. I ate it hard coming into the second set i just washed out the front tire and went over the bars.

Feeling it now. Chops also crashed hard into the mud poddle. He ended up covered from head to toe. Snyder and I did an easy ride this morning. Tomorrow we pack up and head up to boulder for the GP's.
