Canada Cup and Road Racing

Well this last week at home got in some good training. Rode with Chops and Jesse on tuesday and did a good five hour ride up and around hunter.

The Canada Cup went well this weekend ended up 13th. Started back in the 8th row and couldn't make it into the elite group of 9 so Christin and I work together to try to bring down the 45 second gap. On the fifth lap i put my chain into the spokes and couldn't seem to hold onto 10th after that.

Here is my new road bike that will take place its 1st race tomorrow at the tour of somerville. I just got it put together today thanks to steve. Also thanks to Greg Black at Team spin 12 for the frame and fork, Greg Becker for the Sram group, Kris @ Topolino and Suzette @ FIZIK.

You can't have a race in NYC it's a city!

Well I have been busy traveling around the east since i got off the plane. Friday morning I headed up with Christin to do the Canada Cup in bromont. It ended up being an awesome course with very technical descents along with very steep ascents. The race was going well until on the 3rd lap my pedal broke and with 3 laps left to go I wasn't about to attempt to ride just on my spindle. Christin had a good ride and ended up 13 collect a couple UCI points. After the race it was a race back to NY to try to prepare for the race the next day in NYC. I arrived back home saturday night @ 10 tried to get my bike ready for the race the following day. Went down to the city with my dad on sunday. I figured that i could get away with running my road shoes, but as it turned out it was super technical and there was a good amount of running on the course. Trying to get in the road pedals was an tough objective to say the least. I ended up 3rd. They had a sweet jumping section not part of the course but it we road right past it. Snoodle would have been loving it all table tops. I hit the smaller rhythm section the high seat always scares me to jump on the mtb bike. Here are some pics from the last week and half or so.

Chris of RGP's new tree fort that he is building for himself don't let him tell you that it is for the girls.

CHOPS in the herald again!

CHOPS is in the herald more than Danielson.

Short Track was a tough course that climbed up the 4X course. It had almost as much climbing as mount snow STXC course. I wanted to try to jump the four pack into the climb but I just couldn’t get up the courage to pull it off. I never feel right jumping on the XC bike. I don’t want to get bucked off but by midway I was at least manueling the 1st set. I had a good race going but went to deep maybe at around the 10 minute marking trying to bridge across to the lead group. I picked the worst time to give it a go considering that was when Trebon attacked out of the group so it went super hard on that lap. I ended up 17th after almost hitting the deck @ the bottom of decent. I Te it up put some how kept it upright best save I’ve had in a while.

Last Night I stayed with Snyder and Chad since Todd and Meg headed back to D-town. Perry Paolini came to the race and we hung out with him for a while. He is just living large in so-cal right now getting ready to finish up college and begin a lucrative career in the real estate business. I had In And Out burger for dinner last night. I rolled with Animal style on everything that it was amazing. When you are a bear you have to roll with animal style. I think it was my 1st In and Out Burger experience and I will be making a return next time I spend any time in Cali. We headed to dinner and hit up Krispy Kreme for desert a fresh dozen glazed donuts. I think I had 5 out of the dozen. On our walk to the move theater to attempted to see spider-man 3 Perry was so hopped up on his 2 beers and 4 donuts he tried a freestyle walking 7 foot gap to curb ankle plant that turn out to well. He rolled his ankle was having a tough time of it. Here is a pic moment after his misshape.

His ankle ended up swelling up quick so we headed back to the hotel and set Perry back to his house with some ice and Advil.

I decided to fly stand by this morning so I could get home by 11. It sucked waking up @ 4:30 but at least I didn’t have to spend 3 hours in DIA instead I basically walked from gate 15 to 59 and got on the flight to Durango. I got a random search before I could board got to love that. This week I finish up moving out of area 51 and get ready to head back to NY for 2 months. O if anyone in Durango needs clothing let me know I have so much stuff I want to get rid of. (Casual and Cycling))..

Fontana

Headed out to Fontana thursday afternoon. Of course my flight out of d-town was delayed by about 1 and half of hours which led to an all out sprint in DIA for about a mile to make it to my delayed Ontario flight. On the flight some how my Clif shot lemon lime mix blew up in my bag. All my clothes are covered in the mix. Out side the airport i dumped out so much of the clif shot mix i'm surprised they didn't send the cops after me for anthrax ...

Got to the hotel staying with Mcduff, Meg, and Winston. A room over is the 3-D crew a.k.a the 3 Dorks (Snyder, Chad W, and Cale). D-Town living large @ room 132 and 130.

The course is urban mtbing with town homes surrounding the hill that the course is on. Today was the XC and i had the best XC yet finishing up in 18th. I was in 15th for most of the race and faded a little on the last lap. I hit the ground twice once on the 1st lap and then on the last lap. Mcduff ended up fourth on the day and Snoodle finished up in 23rd after he hit the deck 3 times. He even ripped his shorts and his sack!!! I'll end on that note.
